Aufgaben

As a Chief of Staff to the founders for Payroll Plus, Ordio’s newest and most strategic product line. Payroll Plus simplifies payroll for blue-collar teams across Germany by turning operational data (shifts, hours, absences) into accurate, compliant payroll including complex wage components like overtime and surcharges.

In this role, you’ll combine product management, execution, and founder-level problem solving. You’ll help shape strategy, drive execution, and ensure Payroll Plus evolves from early MVP into a scalable, reliable, and compliant core product.

You’ll work at the intersection of founders, product, engineering, and payroll operations, owning outcomes rather than just tasks — and acting as a force multiplier for the leadership team.

Your mission is to turn payroll complexity into a product that feels effortless to use

What You’ll Do

  • 🚀 Own Payroll Plus execution end-to-end: roadmap planning, sprint priorities, delivery tracking, and follow-ups
  • 🧭 Act as the primary product owner for Payroll Plus, covering core PM responsibilities in close collaboration with founders
  • 🎯 Translate founder strategy and customer insights into clear product initiatives and execution plans
  • 🤝 Partner deeply with payroll operations to understand real-world workflows and convert them into scalable product solutions
  • 🔍 Drive discovery, scope MVPs, and make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, quality, and compliance
  • 🖥️ Design and refine both the customer-facing payroll experience and the internal admin & operations tools
  • ✍️ Write crisp product specs, decision docs, and alignment notes that keep teams moving without bureaucracy
  • 📊 Track and report key metrics (e.g. payroll accuracy, processing time, operational load, CSAT/NPS)
Qualifikation
  • 📍 Based in North Rhine Westphalia with fluent German (C1+)
  • 🧠 2–5+ years’ experience in product management, consulting, operations, or a founder-facing role in a fast-moving startup
  • 🧩 Good product intuition you can break down complex problems into clear, actionable steps
  • 🔥 Exceptional ownership mindset: you see gaps, step in, and drive things to completion
  • 🤝 Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership
  • ✍️ Clear communicator and writer you reduce ambiguity
  • 🌪️ Comfortable operating in ambiguity and shifting priorities

Nice-to-haves

  • 🚀 Previous experience in Banking & Consulting
  • 🇩🇪 Familiarity with German payroll or HR processes
  • 🧠 Hands-on experience with tools like Cursor, Claude, Figma, analytics dashboards, or issue trackers
  • 🧾 Experience working in regulated environments where correctness and documentation matter
