As a Business Unit Controller, you are more than a numbers provider – you act as a strategic business partner and sparring partner for the management of the business unit. With your financial and controlling expertise, in-depth analyses based on SAP, you support leaders in making sound operational decisions and in implementing long‑term profitable corporate strategies.
Key responsibilities
- Close collaboration with the management of Business Units, subsidiaries, and affiliated companies, providing analyses as well as concrete recommendations and supporting their implementation
- Responsibility for operational planning, forecasts, projections, and variance analyses with a focus on efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth
- Creation of transparency in production controlling regarding cost structures, processes, and optimization potential along the value chain
- Development and enhancement of controlling structures and establishment of efficient subsidiary controlling processes
- Analysis and commentary on business and financial performance, including cash flow; preparation of business cases, investment proposals, and profitability analyses
- Commercial evaluation of contracts, contribution margin and profitability analyses as a basis for decision‑making
- Contribution to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB, IFRS, and Local GAAP
- Active involvement in building a modern controlling system and in the implementation and further development of SAP S/4HANA public cloud and SAC
- Support of sales strategies and market development through analysis of revenue, pricing, and cost effects of global activities
- Acting as an interface between operational units, group controlling, and management in all business‑related matters
Your profile
- Degree in business administration, economics, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in operational controlling, ideally with a focus on production and sales controlling in industrial environment
- Knowledge of internal and external accounting (HGB, IFRS) desirable
- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP S/4HANA; experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and BI tools (e.g., Analysis for Office) advantageous
- Excellent English skills, both spoken and written
- Strong analytical and conceptual abilities combined with strategic thinking
- High level of initiative, accountability, and resilience
- Strong communication and persuasion skills in working with management and stakeholders
- Team orientation, flexibility, and cultural openness in an international environment
- Motivation to act as a sparring partner at eye level, driving the further development of processes, systems, and structures
