A leading power generation company is seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead initiatives in Germany. The ideal candidate will develop strategies to capture new business opportunities in industrial and commercial sectors. Key responsibilities include influencing project specifications, technical support, and leading proposal developments. Strong technical knowledge in power generation, fluency in German and English, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. This position requires extensive travel across the region.
We are looking for a driven and strategic Business Development Manager (m / w / d ) to lead our Power Generation project initiatives based in Gross-Gerau, Germany .
This role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities, supporting engineering consultants, and influencing upstream project specifications to position our solutions early in the project lifecycle.
Our power generation solutions serve critical applications such as hospitals, data centers, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and infrastructure projects, where reliability and performance are essential.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :
Develop and implement a regional business development strategy focused on power generation projects.
Identify and pursue new project opportunities in industrial and commercial sectors.
Provide technical and strategic support to engineering consultants to influence project specifications and design choices.
Build and maintain strong relationships with EPCs, consultants, and end-users.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, sales, service) to develop tailored solutions for clients.
Lead bid preparation, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
Ensure a smooth handover of secured projects to the Project Execution team, including all relevant documentation and stakeholder alignment.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in the region.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Education / Experience :
A degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
Prior experience working with manufacturers or general contractors, ideally in a technical sales or project-related role.
To be successful in this role you will need the following :
Strong technical background in power generation, mechanical, or electrical equipment.
Fluency in German and English is required; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to travel extensively across the region.
