Job description

European Business Development Manager
Data Centre Fibre Connectivity - Europe

Up to €135,000 + Bonus

Location: Europe (Remote)
Travel: International travel across Europe
Package: Excellent Basic Salary + Bonus + Benefits

Build a market. Shape a brand. Drive growth across Europe's data centre industry.

Are you a commercially minded business developer with experience in fibre optics, structured cabling, connectivity, telecoms or data centre infrastructure?

Do you enjoy creating opportunities rather than inheriting accounts?

This is an opportunity to join a global cable manufacturer and play a pivotal role in establishing its presence within the rapidly growing European data centre market.

We're looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial sales professional to lead the growth of a portfolio that includes high fibre-count optical cabling, connectorised fibre solutions and data centre connectivity infrastructure. This is not a traditional product sales role. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing market strategy, building customer relationships and establishing the business as a credible alternative to long-established industry incumbents.

The Opportunity

The European data centre market represents a significant growth opportunity, and our client is investing heavily in building its presence across the region.

Backed by substantial European manufacturing capability and a highly competitive supply chain, you'll have the platform to challenge established suppliers and create new commercial opportunities with:

  • Data Centre Operators
  • Hyperscalers & Colocation Providers
  • Installation Contractors
  • System Integrators
  • Distribution & Channel Partners

This is a genuine market development role whereyou'll have the autonomy to create strategy, build relationships and influence the future direction of the business.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop and execute a European business development strategy for the data centre sector
  • Build relationships with data centre operators, owners and developers
  • Engage installers, contractors and system integrators involved in major projects
  • Identify and develop strategic channel and distribution partnerships
  • Drive product specification and qualification activities
  • Create and manage a robust pipeline of new opportunities
  • Position manufacturing scale, European production capability and supply chain strength as key differentiators
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activity and emerging opportunities
  • Represent the company at industry events and key customer meetings across Europe
What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have experience in:

  • Data Centres
  • Fibre Optics
  • Structured Cabling
  • Connectivity Solutions
  • Telecom Infrastructure
  • Network Infrastructure
  • Passive Networking Solutions

You’ll likely have a background in:

  • Business Development
  • Strategic Account Management
  • Channel Sales
  • Market Development
  • Enterprise Sales

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities and establishing new relationships in competitive markets.

Why This Role?
  • Opportunity to build a market rather than manage existing accounts
  • Significant autonomy and influence
  • European territory with international exposure
  • Strong manufacturing and supply chain backing
  • High-growth data centre sector
  • Direct and channel sales responsibility
  • Long-term career progression within an expanding global organisation

For ambitious sales professionals who thrive on creating opportunities and challenging the status quo, few roles offer the combination of market potential, strategic responsibility and growth opportunity available here.
