Application Specialist (m / f / d)

FOSS is a leading international manufacturer of analytical system solutions for the food and agricultural industries. Our analysis systems are essentially based on infrared technology and set standards in laboratory and process applications. As a subsidiary of the parent company based in Denmark, we market our products with great success in Germany, Austria and the Benelux countries. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a talented in-house Application Specialist, to be based in our Hamburg office.

Responsibilities

• As our new Application Specialist, you will be the main driver in installing software and ensuring integration into existing systems. This includes networks and virtual servers. You\'ll be the in-house regional expert on software systems, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining applications while providing technical support and training to users.
• Review and support customers\' calibration and application requirements
• Update calibrations as needed and write calibration reports
• Implementation of user seminars
• Customer support (via hotline / remote)
• Provide performance support, maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure high-quality calibration service
• Support of sales with application expertise

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry, engineering, food science, agriculture, or a related discipline)
• Experience with analytical instruments
• Knowledge of statistics and statistics package software / Matlab
• Experience in chemometrics and use of modelling tools
• Experience in PC-related topics (SQL database, PC setup, network setup, virtual server)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently
• Fluent English and German, written and spoken
• Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally
• Knowledge of MS Office and CRM systems is desirable
