Caseware is seeking a Staff Software Developer to advance architecture, mentor engineers, and lead cross‑team initiatives. This senior individual contributor role emphasizes scalable solutions, design leadership, and end‑to‑end ownership across a distributed platform.

You will collaborate with QA, Product, Security, and Domain SMEs to ensure reliable, observable systems and drive improvements in performance and cost efficiency. This is a fully remote position based in Colombia.

Formación

• In-depth, extensive experience with server-side Java; SME across Java.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience with core Java.
• Experience with monoliths and microservices architectures.
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Experience in agile teams with developers, testers, and a PO.
• Designing and evolving shared platforms/infrastructure.
• Experience delivering cloud-native systems on AWS.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as a core platform contributor with global impact.
• Own features and architectural improvements end-to-end.
• Collaborate with a team of deep technical experience; brainstorm and share ideas.
• Lead complex, critical challenges like real-time multi-user synchronization.
• Define and evolve technical architecture and standards for scalability.
• Act as a technical leader through design reviews and RFCs.
• Lead proofs-of-concept informing roadmap and architecture.
• Partner with QA, Product, Security, and Domain SMEs for observability and quality.
• Establish engineering standards to improve security and maintainability.
• Drive operational excellence by mitigating systemic risks impacting reliability or cost.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Security on CI/CD pipelines and production safeguards.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Participate in production support and root-cause analysis.
