Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking a Healthcare Representative in Bogota to review inpatient medical records, assign MS-DRGs/APR DRGs, and ensure accurate POA, SOI, and ROM indicators. You will identify HACs/PSIs impacting quality reporting and reimbursements, while maintaining compliance and data privacy.

The role requires 2+ years inpatient coding experience, CCS/CIC/CDIP certifications preferred, and strong EMR system proficiency. Onsite, growth opportunities, and a collaborative team await.

Qualifications

• 2+ years inpatient DRG coding experience or healthcare background.
• Active CCS, CIC, or CDIP certification preferred.
• Knowledge of MS-DRG/APR DRG assignment, POA, SOI, ROM, HACs and PSIs.
• HIPAA compliance and healthcare laws understanding.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic/Cerner/Meditech).

Responsibilities

• Documentation review and code assignment.
• DRG and reimbursement analysis.
• Clinical documentation review and data abstraction.
• Identify HACs and PSIs affecting reporting and reimbursement.
• Query management and billing/account coordination.
• Work with HIM and revenue cycle teams for compliance.

Your Role:
As a Healthcare Representative, you'll provide high-level technical expertise in reviewing inpatient medical records and physician/provider documentation to accurately determine diagnoses and procedures. You'll assign appropriate MS-DRGs, APR DRGs, POA, SOI, and ROM indicators while identifying Hospital Acquired Conditions (HACs) and Patient Safety Indicators (PSIs) that may impact quality reporting and hospital reimbursement.

What You Need:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of inpatient DRG coding experience or healthcare
• Advanced English Level B2+
• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an allied health field.
• Certification: Active Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) certification.
• RCM & Coding Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic and procedural coding, MS-DRG and APR DRG assignment, POA, SOI, ROM, HACs, and PSIs.
• Healthcare Compliance: Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and applicable federal, state, and local healthcare laws and regulations.
• EMR Experience: Proficiency with electronic medical record systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Coding Technology: Experience with encoder/grouping software and Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) is preferred. Experience with 3M/Solventum, Encoder Pro, or Codify is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
• Teamwork & Integrity: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively while maintaining professional integrity and ethical coding practices.
• Microsoft Office: Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Education: Master's degree or additional credential in business, healthcare, or a related field.
• Clinical Background: Registered Nurse with an active PHRN or USRN license.
• U.S. Healthcare Experience: Previous experience working with U.S. healthcare providers or payers.
• Matrixed Environment: Experience working effectively within a matrixed organizational structure.
• Healthcare Revenue Cycle: Previous experience with U.S. healthcare revenue cycle management and reimbursement processes.
