Practicum: Living a Feminist Life

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

  • Required - Ph.D. in Women’s Studies or related area with demonstrated university training in Women’s Studies and/or Feminist Theory/Methods and/or Feminist Issues (i.e. course work, dissertation topic).
  • Required - an instructor with demonstrable, substantive interdisciplinary training.
  • Applicants will have demonstrated successful university teaching experience (i.e. course instructor, teaching assistant) in Women’s Studies and/or Feminist Theory/Methods and/or Feminist Issues. Success can be demonstrated via course evaluations, letters of reference and/or other components of a teaching dossier.
  • Applicants will have demonstrated research in Women’s Studies and/or Feminist Theory/Methods and/or Feminist Issues (i.e. thesis research, publications, conference presentations, community-based projects/action relevant to the study of women’s lives from sociocultural, political, institutional, theoretical, historical, philosophical and/or literary perspectives).

· Part-time Graduate Students and Non-Students shall not accept any appointment which, taken together with all other appointments at the University, would cause the member to exceed the maximum number of regular hours - i.e. not overtime hours - allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time.

Applicants that are in excess of the above noted workload limits will not have their applications considered unless they have received prior written approval from the appropriate Dean and the Human Resources Department.
