A day in the life of a Bakery Production Assistant: You are an essential part of the Bakery team, working with our experienced Bakery staff to provide the highest quality products. The sweet aromas of our own fresh-baked Artisan breads, pastries, cookies, and muffins make our Bakery a must-stop place for customers. It’s a fun baking opportunity and a creative one, too. You’ll find yourself able to give truly personal service here.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

1. Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
2. Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
3. Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
4. Fries donuts and performs oven duties (Alberta and British Columbia Only)
5. Prepares a variety of bakery products in accordance with Safeway recipes and high standards in order to produce a superior quality product that satisfies customers’ expectations
6. Responsible for preparing baked goods in accordance with company standards on merchandise presentation
7. Receive and put away product orders
8. Cleaning and sanitizing of bakery equipment
9. Receiving and rotating of baked product
10. Filling Bakery showcases

Physical Requirements:

1. Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds
2. Frequent hand coordination, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting
3. Occasional lifting of between 20-50 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
4. Constant standing, walking, gripping, reaching
