The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Interprofessional Practice and Learning (IPPL), the Professional Practice Coordinator (PPC) supports profession-specific practice and promotes practice excellence within person-centred and collaborative interprofessional care environments. As a member of the IPPL team, the PPC collaborates with health services managers, clinical leaders, and health care professionals to identify educational needs and provide practice support. The PPC further acts as a resource related to the application of relevant legislation, professional credentialling, and standards of practice. The PPC position may be assigned to a provincial program or positioned within a regional zone. At the zone level, the PPC supports and advances evidence-informed practice within designated clinical areas.

Please note this position requires periodic travel to facilities withinEastern Zone. Access to reliable transportation is required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • A degree prepared regulated health care provider in a related discipline (i.e. Respiratory Therapy) is required
  • Licensure and membership in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists (NSCRT) required
  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience with strong clinical and leadership skills required
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with Policy
  • Understanding of legislation, regulatory processes, and application of professional standards
  • Ability to lead through change, anticipate problems and respond accordingly
  • Ability to manage stressful situations within a challenging, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated profession-specific expertise and excellent clinical reasoning skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and LEADS Competencies (Leads Self, Engages Others, Achieves Results, Develops Coalitions & Systems Transformation)
  • Strong problem-solving and effective communication skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member
  • Successful in collaborative in establishing and maintaining good working relationships
  • Aptitude for innovative thinking and problem solving to facilitate change
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems such as MS Office for conducting day to day business as well as virtual meetings and virtual teaching/facilitation
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

Hours

Permanent Full-Time; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$41.00 - $52.96 hourly
$79,942 - $103,271 annually

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
