EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH, VANCOUVER
Youth and Family Ministries Co-Ordinator
The Ebenezer Baptist Church Youth and Family Ministries Coordinator will work closely with the Interim Pastor, Elders and Christian Nurture Board in planning and implementing ministries for youth, children and families as well as other church ministry opportunities depending on experience. Will be responsible to the Pastor on behalf of the Board of Elders and Chair of Nurture Board, in pursuit of the church’s mission of “winning and building passionate, life-long followers of Jesus Christ.”
Hours and Remuneration
This is a paid contract position for 10 -20 hours per week, depending on availability, beginning in August, 2025.
Remuneration is negotiable according to qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, leading and participating in the implementation of youth, children and family ministry programs, in collaboration with church leaders and volunteers in order to nurture spiritual growth among youth and families.
- Supporting families in their role as primary disciplers of their children and youth by teaching and mentoring them in a life of following Christ.
- Participation in Sunday morning worship services related to experience and ability.
- Recruit, train and support volunteer leaders for our growing family ministries, eg. Sunday school, VBS, family nights, youth ministries
- Plan and co-lead education sessions on child and family safety plan and ensures safety practices are followed
- Networks with other churches children and youth ministry leaders.
- Participates in developing budgets and monitoring expenses
- Other duties and administrative tasks or ministry roles as assigned or mutually agreed upon and attending meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- A deep, growing personal faith and testimony in Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with the NAB Baptist Statement of Faith.
- Committed to living and serving in a manner consistent with the standards set forth in Scripture for leadership (cf. 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).
- Ongoing or recently completed Christian Education or Theological studies.
- Experience in leading and implementing children, youth and family ministries and a passion to see people come to a committed relationship with Jesus.
- Capacity to work as a teachable team player and relates well with other staff, volunteers and parents.
- Ability to multitask and have good organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Employment is conditional upon completing a criminal record check and child safety screening.
