Commercial Litigation Lawyer (Hybrid Position)
Job description
Our client, a leading mid-size firm with multiple offices across Ontario, is currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Commercial Litigation Lawyer with at least 6+ years of experience. The position will involve exposure to general commercial litigation, with an opportunity to focus on and to develop expertise in one or more specific areas.
Your new role
In this role, you'll take on a hands-on approach to managing litigation files from start to finish, operating independently while collaborating closely with an experienced team. You’ll manage your own cases, while also contributing to complex matters alongside senior counsel. This position includes negotiating and litigating across a variety of commercial litigation cases, particularly those involving issues like tender processes, procurement, outstanding payments, deficiencies, liens, trusts, and instances of negligence. Additionally, you’ll play an advisory role, assisting clients in negotiation strategies and drafting necessary documentation to support their cases.
What you will need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 6 years’ post-call experience, with demonstrated knowledge and interest in litigation, particularly complex commercial litigation matters. You can work well under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. You will also have strong teamwork skills, be trustworthy, accountable, proactive, and possess a positive work attitude. You will also have confidence and legal acumen to do great work and relish in the thrill and accomplishment of winning a case to better your client’s causes.
