Job description

We are seeking a Contracts Attorney to assist the organization’s legal counsel in developing, negotiating, evaluating, and monitoring compliance with its contracts. The successful candidate will ensure that all parties to the contract are compliant with the terms of the contract and that all contracts abide by local and federal laws. Additionally, the Contracts Attorney will assist the organization’s chief compliance officer in ensuring that the organization’s operations and employees adhere to relevant laws and regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the marketing department with reviewing RFP-related contracts and responding to compliance/legal-related questions
  • Assist the chief compliance officer with reviewing sample RFPs and presentations
  • Prepare, review, and update contract templates
  • Ensure all contract records are accurate and up to date
  • Monitor contractual notice/compliance requirements
  • Monitor and follow-up on employee compliance with code of ethics and other policy adherence and reporting requirements
  • Negotiate and approve lower-level contracts (e.g., NDAs, amendments, etc.)
  • Create and disseminate status reports regarding contracts
  • Analyze contracts to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
  • Monitor and report on new or changes to applicable laws
  • Manage the contract approval, signature, delivery, and recording process
Qualifications
  • 3+ years applicable experience or a law degree from an ABA accredited institution
  • Knowledge of contract law, applicable regulations, and basic finance
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
