The Senior Regional EHS3 Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of a Regional EHS strategy across the company's diverse locations.

This role will ensure the safety and well-being of employees, regulatory compliance, and environmental sustainability at all regional sites, which may include R&D centers, manufacturing facilities, and distribution operations. The role requires collaboration with regional leaders to promote a strong safety culture, manage risk, and implement innovative programs tailored to the life sciences industry.

This role can be based in Connecticut, Kentucky, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, or Ohio. Travel of up to 30% is expected.

What we are looking for:

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in EHS, preferably within the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries.
  • Significant Regional or multi-region EHS management experience, including leadership of cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong track record of developing and leading Regional EHS programs within regulated environments (e.g., FDA, OSHA, EPA,).

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or international equivalents.
  • ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 lead auditor or implementation experience.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership, regulatory agencies, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience analyzing complex data to drive EHS strategy and improvements, with a focus on leading metrics and predictive analytics.
  • Project Management: Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of delivering Regional EHS initiatives on time and within budget.

Regional EHS Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a Regional EHS strategy that aligns with corporate objectives, fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all regional sites.
  • Lead Regional initiatives to enhance EHS performance, focusing on reducing workplace incidents, improving safety awareness, and minimizing environmental impact.
  • Act as the chief advisor to senior leadership on all EHS matters Regionally, providing insights, strategic direction, and updates on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO standards, European Directives) across all operating regions.
  • Lead efforts to standardize EHS policies and practices across multiple regional locations, ensuring adherence to company policies and local laws.
  • Manage Regional EHS audits, inspections, and investigations, implementing preventive and corrective actions as needed.

Regional EHS Program Development and Implementation:

  • Lead the creation and deployment of Regional EHS programs that reflect industry best practices in safety management, chemical handling, hazardous materials, ergonomics, and more, tailored to the life sciences industry.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Regional EHS programs, ensuring all sites operate at the highest safety standards.
  • Implement standardized tools for hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective actions across regional sites.

Environmental Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility:

  • Lead Regional sustainability initiatives, promoting environmental stewardship by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and optimizing resource management across regions.
  • Develop and manage regional programs aimed at achieving long-term sustainability goals such as carbon neutrality, zero waste, and water conservation.
  • Ensure that the company's Regional environmental strategy aligns with its overall corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability objectives.

Regional Risk and Crisis Management:

  • Develop and oversee regional emergency response and support business continuity plans, ensuring that all regional sites are prepared for incidents such as fires, natural disasters, pandemics, and chemical spills.
  • Identify and assess emerging regional risks, developing mitigation strategies to prevent incidents and ensure employee safety and operational continuity.

Regional Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a regional team of regional EHS managers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the effective implementation of EHS programs across all sites.
  • Foster a high-performance culture, driving accountability, continuous learning, and development among EHS professionals across the regional organization.
  • Collaborate with Regional human resources to develop and implement regional safety training programs, ensuring employees at all levels are trained and engaged in EHS efforts.

Regional EHS Metrics, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement:

  • Establish Regional EHS KPIs, ensuring consistent reporting and performance tracking across all regions. Report to executive leadership on EHS performance, challenges, and opportunities Regionally.
  • Analyze Regional EHS data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement, ensuring data-driven decision-making and program adjustments.
  • Manage the Regional EHS budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across regions and projects.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$121,700.00 - $202,800.00

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$121,700.00 - $202,800.00
