The Youth Drug Stabilization Worker (YDSW) supports the Youth Addictions Stabilization Unit (YASU) and/or the Intoxicated Persons Detention Area (IPDA), which are short-term programs to help youth who are experiencing addictions to alcohol and/or other drugs, and their families.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including nurses and paramedics, the YDSW works to support the youth to physically stabilize from substances they are using, and explore treatment options available in the community.
