Description

Rates & Premiums
  • Base hourly rate from $26.50/hour to $31/hour based on experience
  • Premiums starting at $6/hour for night shift and operating Class 1 equipment
  • Premium up to $14/hour for winter operations as a Class 1 operator and when operating the tow plow unit
  • Extended health, dental, pension and RSP provided by CLAC
Work Conditions
  • Shift work, on-call, and night shifts may be required as we respond to varying weather patterns
  • Season runs October 1, 2025 – April 2026
  • Staff accommodations can be provided in Edson (no travel allowance or LOA provided)
Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate wheel loaders, snow plows and other heavy and light equipment as required
  • Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with labour duties (crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
  • Clear 3-year driver’s abstract
  • Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
