About Us

Incorporated in 1955, Ocean Steel services several markets, including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process-equipment. JOB DESCRIPTION

Operating various welding equipment and tools to weld in vertical and horizontal positions, metal core (MCAW) welding on structural steel building components, setting up wire‑fed welding machines manually using control buttons, reviewing structural drawings for steel beams, columns, and other building components that form complete structures, and operating overhead cranes to transport workpieces and metal components.

• Set up wire fed welding machines manually using control buttons
• Review structural drawings for steel beams, columns, and other building components that form complete structures

Requirements

• Successful completion of pre-employment college program or equivalent experience
• Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification (Block 1)

• Able to work rotating shifts, 2 weeks of days, 2 weeks of nights
