Position Summary

The Transportation Construction Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating trucking operations to support daily construction activities. This role ensures accurate scheduling, efficient dispatching, and clear communication with job sites, vendors, and customers. It maintains strong safety and compliance standards while adapting to real‑time operational changes. Success in this position requires strong organization, problem‑solving, and collaboration to deliver reliable, high‑quality service aligned with project and company goals.

Job Duties
  • Coordinate and dispatch trucks for paving, grinding, shouldering, and other construction activities, ensuring on‑time arrival and efficient loading
  • Manage order intake, customer communication, and real‑time resolution of service or quality issues
  • Monitor job site progress, adjust trucking plans quickly, and maintain continuous communication with supervisors, plants, vendors, and order takers
  • Oversee safety and compliance, ensuring all vendors meet job site standards and properly use required technology (e.g., TREAD)
  • Lead collaboration between site teams and vendors by organizing check‑ins, reviewing analytics, and supporting continuous improvement
  • Track operational performance metrics to drive efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of dispatching experience in construction, aggregates, paving, logistics, or heavy‑equipment environments
  • Strong ability to coordinate multiple trucks/equipment in a high‑volume, fast‑paced setting
  • Experience working directly with construction sites, trucking fleets, or vendors, with strong customer service and order‑taking skills
  • Knowledge of materials, regional geography, and vendor networks preferred
  • Proficiency with dispatching systems, GPS/fleet management tools, and technology‑driven workflows (including TREAD
  • Demonstrated communication, problem‑solving, leadership, adaptability, and attention to detail, with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Availability to work afternoon shifts
  • Willingness to travel to local job sites as required
  • Valid G‑class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
