Job summary

A leading tech firm is seeking a Test Lead - Senior in Toronto, ON (hybrid). In this role, you will manage end-to-end quality throughout the application development lifecycle, lead a team of ~10 testers, and develop test strategies that incorporate AI and automation. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience with testing tools, and excellent problem-solving abilities. Title: Test Lead - Senior

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 308 days with possibility of extension

Responsibilities

• Manage end-end quality of application development lifecycle.
• Optimize and manage resources across the testing lifecycle.
• Plan, manage and lead the design and execution of test strategies, plans, scenarios.
• Coordinate test strategies with project managers and stakeholders.
• Establish proactive monitoring and application health dashboards and remain hands‑on on granular details.
• Provide practical insights on testing and user stories during development phase.
• Incorporate AI and automation to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Lead and mentor the testing team to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

Must Have Skills

• Solid understanding of end-end application development lifecycle and pitfalls
• Expertise in proactively identifying gaps in user stories and following through with test management processes.
• Leadership experience managing a team of ~10 testers.
• Hands‑on with manual and automated testing tools and processes in service-oriented architecture.
• Hands‑on with SQL and database testing (SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access).
• Proficient in project management practices.
• Solid experience in managing the quality of large and complex technical portfolio
• Proficient in understanding unit testing coverage.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Use of AI in Software Testing
• Experience with Java, CURAM and Oracle
• Familiarity with AODA testing tools.
