What can you expect in this role?
  • Lead assigned team of Auto Claims Representatives and provide technical direction to ensure efficient handling of claims.
  • You’ll provide guidance, on-the-job training, technical instructions, and direct leadership to assigned staff relative to performance, productivity, personal conduct, and adherence to processes and corporate policies and procedures.
  • You’ll complete audits by reviewing and monitoring claims files and providing effective feedback.
  • You’ll foster staff development by assisting with the selection of staff, conducting performance evaluations, provide ongoing and effective feedback, identify training opportunities, and keep staff informed of changes to policies and procedures.
  • You’ll provide coaching and performance feedback to the Auto team by reviewing reports, discussing options, and developing action plans.
  • You’ll manage expenses and an annual operating budget for the team.
  • You’ll initiate interviews for vacancies within the unit and making recommendations for new hires
What do you bring to the role?
  • 3 - 5 years of claims experience, with a focus on the direct handling of a variety of Auto claims
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated organizational, negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • University degree from any discipline. College diploma within a relevant discipline from a minimum two-year program at a provincially recognized and funded community college and/or the CIP designation is required.
  • You’re professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions with both customers and co-workers
  • You’re at your best when things get busy. You’ve mastered the art of staying calm and thinking fast on your feet. You’re definitely not afraid of change!
  • You’ve got a strong customer-interaction focus and proven performance management experience coupled with well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • You’re a natural coach and mentor
  • Fluently bilingual (English & French) is considered an asset.

Salary range: $69,000 - $127,000

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
