Job summary

LASIK MD in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Surgical Assistant to support intraocular and LASIK procedures. You will prepare the operating room, organize instruments, and assist the surgeon, ensuring a smooth, safe workflow and helpful patient interactions.

The role offers a permanent full-time schedule (approximately 33–40 hours/week), with hours varying by clinic needs. Benefits include bonus eligibility, free LASIK, vacation, sick days, and group insurance, RRSP match, and telemedicine support.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication in English.
• Strong teamwork and coordination with surgeons and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the room and instruments for intraocular and LASIK procedures.
• Support the surgeon during procedures and ensure smooth workflow in the operating room.
• Communicate with patients to explain processes and provide reassurance as needed.
• Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to coordinate interventions and aftercare.
• Contribute to patient safety by reporting concerns and risks to clinic management.

• Your experience in the healthcare field is considered an asset (Optometric Assistant, Orderly, Dental Assistant, Pharmacy Lab Technician, Sterilization Assistant, Animal Health Technician, Veterinary Assistant, Medical Device Reprocessing Technician, etc.).
• You can travel to other clinics for training (expenses covered by Vision Group).
• Schedule: You are available to work Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, with Saturdays on rotation.
