Job summary

LASIK MD clinic seeks an Ophthalmic Technician (Opticianry or science graduate) to perform preop/postop measurements, review imaging maps, and support patient care.

This full-time role (~35 hours/week) offers a wage of $28.30–$33.96/hr, bonus eligibility, travel to other clinics, and benefits including three weeks vacation, three sick days, one wellness day, group insurance, telemedicine and RRSP match. Schedule includes weekdays and some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science (BSc) or accredited ophthalmic program.
• COT or COMT certification preferred.
• Tech-savvy with computers and EMR systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative and postoperative measurements with clear patient explanations.
• Review imaging maps to validate their accuracy.
• Be knowledgeable about clinic procedures and technologies.
• Provide outstanding customer service and patient care.
• Support Risk Management by reporting patient safety concerns promptly.

The wage range for this role is between $28.30 - $33.96/hr.

Your tasks at a glance

• You complete preoperative and postoperative measurements, offering clear explanations to patients throughout the process.
• You review imaging maps to validatetheir accuracy.
• You are knowledgeable about procedures and technologies available in the clinic.
• You provide outstanding customer service and patient care.
• You support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.

A clear view of your assets

• You are a graduate of a Bachelor's program in science (Bsc), an Opticianry program (license not required), a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).
• You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
• You are motivated tolearn how to use various diagnostic and testingtools.
• You have excellent communication skills in English.
• Your experience in an eye-care environment is an asset.
• Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Required: You are comfortable traveling to other clinics for training (and/or) work (expenses covered by Vision Group).
