As a Student Food Services Worker, not only will you play an important part in helping us prep food and follow safety guidelines, but you’ll master customer service and social skills! Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and
  • Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Light cash handling duties including but not limited to: processing guest transactions, balancing cash floats, participating in cashiers audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
Qualifications
  • 1+ years Kitchen Help, Food Service, or Prep Cook experience
  • Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and / or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and / or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
