Job description
Role Overview

Due to an increased demand resulting from changes to the National Cervical Screening Programme, a Band 5 staff nurse role has arisen within NHS Fife’s Gynaecology Outpatients. This is a permanent post initially 13.33 hrs per week, based at Queen Margaret Hospital (QMH) in Dunfermline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist nursing care to women attending the Gynaecology Outpatients Service, working closely with consultants, nurse‑led services and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver patient‑centred, high‑quality care that meets research‑based principles and enhances the quality of patient care.
  • Attend and participate in clinics, contributing to the continuous development of Gynaecology Services.
  • Assist in colposcopy investigations for the NHS Cervical Screening Programme within the unique Colposcopy Unit at QMH.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered with the NMC as a staff nurse, educated to degree level.
  • Post‑registration experience in Gynaecology.
  • Membership in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
Benefits & Working Hours

Part‑time post with salary pro‑rata. As of 1/4/2026 the full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week; part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. The pay scale for this advert will remain unchanged.
