Job description
Job Description

RBC Hybrid Cloud and Intelligent Operations (HYCIO) is transforming into a product-oriented organization. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Product Delivery to lead end-to-end oversight and governance of complex product delivery within our HYCIO portfolios. This role is crucial for building trust and transparency between product management, engineering, customers and key stakeholders – and emphasizes product delivery practices, strategic alignment, collaborative team leadership, continuous improvement, execution oversight and portfolio reporting.

The Senior Manager, Product Delivery will leverage their unique technical domain experience along with expertise in agile practices and product management to facilitate product delivery across multiple teams, enhance operational effectiveness, and ensure exceptional customer experiences. This role is a blend of service/product delivery that requires Scrum Master and Program Management experience with a strong understanding of cloud technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who “grew up” as hands‑on infrastructure/cloud engineer and wants to move to more of a Program/Product Manager role, or someone who has a blend of Program/Product and wants to focus on infrastructure/cloud technologies.

What you will do:
  • Support the transformation toward a scalable, product-oriented organization by partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering leaders.
  • Facilitate execution and oversight of complex product delivery within HYCIO portfolios, including team and portfolio-level cadences such as requirements gathering, backlog refinement, release and deployment planning.
  • Remove impediments to delivery success through the proactive management of external dependencies, escalating issues through product management, engineering and leadership channels where necessary.
  • Lead without authority in an environment of ambiguity, helping teams navigate requests where solutions are not readily known.
  • Facilitation of team problem‑solving, enabling delivery teams to develop new or unique approaches to ongoing challenges.
  • Establish and maintain delivery frameworks, controls, and standards to streamline product delivery and ensure sustainable adoption.
  • Implement robust tracking and reporting mechanisms, using Jira, Confluence and GitHub, to ensure comprehensive oversight of execution, effective management of dependencies, and transparency into product delivery progress and accomplishments.
  • Support data‑driven decision‑making by facilitating capacity allocation, workload balancing, and continuous optimization of delivery processes.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead cross‑functional teams (consisting of product management, engineering, architecture, risk and compliance, UDX) in good product management and lean agile delivery practices – fostering a high‑performing and collaborative culture.
  • Seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability of results and solving productivity issues; including defining and tracking key team performance metrics and reinforcing expected behaviors.
  • Manage and strengthen communication and partnership between stakeholders, providing regular and transparent updates on delivery status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Champion continuous improvement mindset and culture, drive continuous process improvement activities, including retrospectives, and embed best practices to enhance delivery maturity and effectiveness.
  • Encourage teams to actively incorporate customer feedback, ensuring products meet evolving business requirements and deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Foster innovation and continuous learning, encouraging experimentation and agility across the delivery lifecycle.

  • Proficiency in using workflow and collaboration tools and analytics to drive effectiveness (e.g. Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Mural, Tableau).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills – both verbal and written, including presentation and facilitation skills.
