Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in month-end closing and prepare journal entries.
  • Manage Fixed Asset system and support financial reporting.
  • Lead monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist in month‑end closing and prepare manual journal entries as necessary. Example - Prepaid expenses, accruals, bank transactions, etc.
  • Assist Controller with maintaining existing financial controls and implementing new controls where necessary.
  • Prepare detailed account reconciliations and analyze data.
  • Lead Balance Sheet review on quarterly basis.
  • Manage Fixed Asset system including setting up new Fixed assets and calculating appropriate depreciation.
  • Support and assist with internal and external financial reporting.
  • Act as Finance lead with external recycling companies.
  • Support Controller with cash flow forecasting and tracking.
  • Reconcile all Bank Accounts monthly.
  • Record and track retail sales and convert to Head Office ERP system.
  • Assist with Audits of Retail Store Outlets and procedures for cash management and inventory control at those locations.
  • Assume a leadership role to guide other accounting personnel in daily tasks.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
  • Must have completed a University degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
  • Must hold a valid CPA designation or be in final stages of completion.
  • At least 5 years accounting experience with progressive responsibility in a Corporate Accounting environment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in generally accepted accounting principles and cost accounting standards and able to apply same to day‑to‑day financial transactions.
  • Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
  • Must have excellent research and analysis skills to compile and interpret Data.
  • Should have experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Full knowledge of corporate purchasing policies, processes, and procedures would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Teams required.
  • Strong Organization Skills.
  • Must have strong decision‑making skills and the ability to exercise independent judgement.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and collaborative skills (English Language).
