What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for Catalog Interfaces, building high‑scale APIs and driving adoption across multiple internal teams
- Lead and develop a team of 6+ software engineers, fostering a high‑trust and high‑ownership culture
- Deliver reliable, low‑latency services that manage billions of catalog updates and optimize operational excellence
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to shape API contracts and prioritize impactful initiatives
- Design and evolve interfaces for AI/ML systems to safely expose catalog data
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a management role
- Proven experience leading backend/platform teams that handle high‑scale, low‑latency APIs
- Hands‑on experience with service‑oriented architectures, API design, and data modeling
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Go, Java, or Python)
- Experience with streaming and batch data systems, including data quality frameworks and governance
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Background in building or integrating AI/ML applications and retrieval pipelines
- Familiarity with data privacy, compliance, and access controls within data platforms
- Expertise in observability and reliability tooling
- Experience driving platform adoption while balancing long‑term investments with immediate needs
- An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
