Job summary

Starbucks Ottawa is seeking a Shift Supervisor to support the store manager in executing daily operations during scheduled shifts. You will lead partners, assign tasks, and ensure the Starbucks Experience with legendary service and quality beverages.

You will model Starbucks guiding principles, maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store, and coach team members to deliver consistent performance during busy periods, while upholding cash handling and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment.
• Ability to direct the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Acts with integrity and promotes the culture, values and mission of Starbucks.
• Maintains a calm demeanor during high volume to keep store operating to standard.
• Anticipates customer and store needs by evaluating environment and cues.
• Communicates information to manager so the team can respond to create the Third Place environment.
• Assists with new partner training by coaching as needed.
• Provides feedback to store manager on partner performance during shift.
• Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance.
• Delivers legendary customer service by maintaining a customer comes first attitude.
• Develops positive relationships with shift team by addressing motivation and concerns.
• Executes store operations during scheduled shifts and opens/closes as assigned.
• Follows cash handling and safety policies to ensure safety of all partners.
• Follows up with baristas during shift to ensure delivery of legendary customer service.
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
• Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products per recipes and standards.
• Respects health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Recognizes and reinforces achievements and collaborates on recognition methods.
• Uses operational tools to achieve shift-level excellence.
