Course and Position

MAF2006H - Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management II - Summer 2026

This course is the second part of Investment Analysis & Portfolio Management. Topics include portfolio risk management, portfolio performance evaluation and attribution, behavioural finance, and various types of alternative investments (e.g., hedge funds, private equities and venture capitals, commodities, and real estate investments). In delivering these topics, current research findings will be shared with students. The course will employ case studies extensively. Since delegated portfolio management is a main theme, emphasis will be placed on adhering to ethical standards when dealing with clients. Credit Value (FCE) 0.50. Prerequisites: MAF2001H and MAF2002H and MAF2003H. Campus(es): Scarborough. Delivery Mode: In Class.

MAccFin Sessional Instructional Assistant – Summer 2026

The following positions for Sessional Instructional Assistants are available in the Department of Management Scarborough for the Summer academic session. This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment. Summer 2026 Session Dates: May 4, 2025 - August 31, 2025 or May 4, July 31, 2025. Note: All positions involve completion of all course grading.

Minimum Qualifications

Completed MAF2006H or equivalent portfolio management courses with distinction (“A”).

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree; completed all three levels of the CFA exam; previous graduate level TA experience is preferred.

Relevant Criterion

Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position.

Duties

Prepare marking rubrics, marking and providing detailed comments (both oral and written) to students on case assignments, midterm and final exams, and recording the grades. Provide detailed feedback of student’s performance and learning strategies to instructor.
