Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Markham office, with consideration for any location across Canada. You will contribute to mine water management projects, leading modelling, design, and analysis within our Environmental Services team.

This role requires strong hydrology and hydraulics skills, years of experience, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulators; travel to field sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate preferred in a related field.
• 10+ years in consulting or regulatory settings focused on mine water management.
• PEO or equivalent professional registration in Canada.
• Strong hydrology and hydraulics background with design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead mine water resources management projects from baseline to closure.
• Develop water balance and water quality models for NI 43-101 studies.
• Provide technical leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare proposals, work plans, and budgets for projects.
• Author technical reports detailing modeling and field investigations.
• Travel to field sites as required.
