Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Markham office, with consideration for any location across Canada. You will contribute to a wide range of water resources projects focused on mine water management, leading modelling, design and planning.

The role requires strong hydrology and hydraulics expertise, ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and deliver defensible recommendations to clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate preferred in a related field.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in mine water management consulting.
• Professional Engineer (PEO) registration or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead mine water resources projects from baseline to closure.
• Develop water balance and water quality models for projects.
• Design water management infrastructure (ditches, ponds, culverts).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and integrate findings.
• Manage budgets, staff allocation, and invoicing.
• Prepare proposals, work plans, schedules and budgets.
• Publish clear technical reports detailing modeling results.
• Travel to field sites as required.
