Job summary
Stantec is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join the Markham office, with consideration for any location across Canada. You’ll lead a team within the Water Resources Technical Team, focusing on mine water management, hydraulic modelling, and water quality analyses across projects nationwide.
The role requires senior-level expertise, multidisciplinary collaboration, and strong client engagement, with travel to field sites as needed and a path toward leadership in technical delivery
Qualifications
- Preference for candidates with a Master’s or Doctorate in a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in mine water management
- Professional registration with PEO or another Canadian engineering association
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and budgets
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mine water resources projects through life of mine phases
- Develop and review water balance and water quality models
- Design water management infrastructure including sedimentation ponds and culverts
- Provide technical leadership within cross-disciplinary teams
- Engage with clients and regulators and manage project budgets and schedules
