Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Resources team in Canada, with a focus on mine water management. The role involves leading hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, infrastructure design, and water quality analyses across Canada from a Markham base, with travel to field sites as needed.

You will mentor staff, manage projects and budgets, and liaise with clients and regulators while applying HSSE standards and provincial/federal water resources regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PEO) registration or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in consulting or regulatory mine water management.
• Strong hydrology and hydraulics expertise.
• Valid G-class driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mine water resources projects through life of mine phases.
• Provide technical leadership within multidisciplinary teams and coordinate inputs.
• Oversee project budgets, staffing, and invoicing.
• Prepare proposals, work plans, schedules, and budgets for projects.
• Author clear technical reports documenting modeling results and field findings.
• Design and supervise hydrological and water quality field investigations.
• Travel to field sites as required.
