Job summary

Stantec is hiring a Senior Water Resources Engineer in Markham with flexibility to work across Canada. You will lead mine water management projects, develop hydraulic and hydrologic models, and design water infrastructure while guiding multidisciplinary teams and liaising with clients and regulators.

The role emphasizes strong modelling skills, project leadership, and adherence to regulatory standards, with opportunities to influence water quantity and quality outcomes nationwide.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in a related field is preferred.
• Professional engineering licensure with PEO or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in mine water management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mine water resources projects across life of mine phases.
• Provide technical leadership in water management infrastructure design.
• Oversee budgets, staffing, and invoices for projects.
• Prepare proposals, work plans, schedules and budgets.
• Author technical reports detailing modeling results and investigations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure defensible recommendations.
