Senior Therapist – ABA Team Lead (In-Centre) | Location: Montessori Kids by OneHealth – Ottawa, Ontario | Type: Part-Time Contract (Independent Contractor) | Hours: 15–25 hours per week (flexible based on caseload) | Compensation: Starting at $32.00–$35/hour (depending on experience) | Start Date: Immediate

About Us

Montessori Kids by OneHealth is a unique child development centre integrating Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) with the Montessori philosophy to support neurodiverse children ages 2–12. Our team-based, whole-child approach blends clinical excellence with play-based, sensory-rich, and inclusive programming.

We are seeking a Senior Therapist who can both lead and support our growing clinical team. This is an in-centre, hands-on leadership role that blends direct therapy, team supervision, daily operations support, and compliance oversight.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for a seasoned ABA therapist or senior instructor who thrives in a dynamic team environment and has demonstrated experience in:

  • Leading sessions and providing clinical direction in real-time
  • Managing daily flow, schedules, and staff coverage
  • Supporting junior therapists and maintaining compliance
  • Working collaboratively with families and clinical supervisors

You will act as a Team Lead during in-centre programming blocks, helping ensure smooth daily operations, accurate therapist-youth matching, consistent data tracking, and responsive clinical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 direct therapy using ABA-based strategies with assigned youth
  • Lead daily team huddles, assign therapists to youth based on skill and need
  • Check daily therapist coverage, flag absences, and adjust schedules in real time
  • Coordinate room setup, binders, logs, and materials before each session
  • Ensure therapists complete data collection, clean-up, and end-of-session documentation
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching to Instructor Therapists
  • Participate in functional assessments and assist in ABLLS-R, AFLS, and VB-MAPP scoring
  • Track program integrity and report concerns to the Clinical Supervisor
  • Collaborate on Individualized Service Plans (ISP) and behaviour plans
  • Communicate with families as needed and help facilitate the intake transition
  • Experience with intake and onboarding new clients
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience delivering ABA or IBI services
  • Experience supervising therapy teams or leading sessions required
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage the “flow” of the day
  • Experience in clinic-based programs preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Behavioural Science, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field
  • ABA Certificate, Autism & Behavioural Science diploma, or equivalent preferred
  • Working knowledge of ABLLS-R, AFLS, VB-MAPP, and behavior tracking systems
  • Must be comfortable providing toilet training and supporting SIBs or aggressive behaviors
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check required
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred
