Overview
Our public sector client requires a Senior QA to perform Accessibility assessments on public and employee facing screens for a large pensions initiative.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing using code analysis and assistive technologies such as NVDA or JAWS to test web applications against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA criteria.
- Perform automated testing using tools such as Accessibility Insights for Web.
- Create and modify WCAG reports containing defects, descriptions of issues, steps to reproduce and impacted users and remediation.
- Fully document remediation solutions at code level, using samples of compliant code (HTML, CSS and ARIA attributes) in Azure DevOps (ADO) or in other test management tools such as JIRA.
- Implement automated testing and provide guidance on creating test cases for accessibility and screen reader testing.
- Host design and code walkthroughs to provide information on Accessibility issues and clarify remediation to stakeholders.
- Review fixed code and propose modifications to remediate Accessibility issues of a web application.
- Collaborate with peers to implement sustainable and reliable solutions that adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.
- Provide a status report on progress, potential blockers, issues detected, and issues resolved to technical leads and team lead.
Must have
- Experience with WCAG 2.1 AA
- Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA)
- Experience with NVDA or JAWS
- HTML and CSS experience
- Accessibility Insights for Web
Nice to have
- Experience with Java, Spring and Citrus
