Objectives
  • Build new and leverage existing client contacts to identify new business opportunities.
  • Provide project management for large client projects and project teams, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery and high‑quality deliverables.
  • Ensure that all internal and external projects are completely and accurately represented in Changepoint and other financial and reporting systems.
  • Continuously improve our client’s solution delivery capabilities and share related knowledge and best practices with the PM community.
  • Assist in service estimation and solution sales processes.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects: scope, budget, risk, resources, plan/timeline, internal communications and external client communications. Lead project teams and be accountable for overall project success.
  • Determine staffing needs for projects and coordinate assignment of staff, including subcontractors and partners, as needed.
  • Encourage and foster individual professional growth and teamwork among project staff.
  • Work with pre‑sales, Business Unit Manager, and Legal to prepare services contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with our client’s processes as documented in the Canada PMO.
  • Participate in, or lead, knowledge‑sharing activities and contribute to the knowledge base.
  • Assist or shadow other Project Managers on large projects.
  • Ensure internal and external client escalation procedures are followed promptly for problem resolution.
  • Proactively maintain an understanding of our client’s solutions and architectures, including competitive analysis, and build strong ties with R&D, Marketing, driver teams, and Technical Support.
  • Work with pre‑sales to qualify solution sales opportunities and provide services time/effort estimates and project plans for proposals.
  • Provide client presentations regarding our client’s methodologies, value proposition, and project management processes.
  • Provide input into consulting group processes and procedures.
  • Mentor other Project Managers as required.
  • Incorporate subcontractors, partner resources, and partner processes into projects as per internal/client/partner needs.
  • Participate in the PMO process review and actively develop/contribute materials to the PMO.
  • Supervise internal product validation, development, and quality assurance related to client solution implementation needs.
  • Serve as an identified resource for objective reviewing in internal project/design/code reviews and provide guidance and best‑practice communication.
  • Lead new solution implementations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expand business development opportunities by working closely with Sales, Pre‑Sales, and Alliance teams to develop and execute sales strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business or Computer Science.
  • PMP (PMI) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project.
  • Ability to conceptualize client needs and translate them into specific implementation strategies.
  • At least 5‑7 years of experience managing multi‑person application development projects in a vendor/competitive sales environment, preferably serving external clients.
  • At least 8 years of experience in data warehousing (DW) and business intelligence (BI).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, mainly Ottawa, and possibly Quebec and Eastern Canada.
  • Bilingual (French and English) is an asset, but not mandatory.
