Job summary

Ruby & Co. in Canada is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage full‑cycle payroll processing for a multi‑employee organization. The role emphasizes accuracy, on‑time delivery, and compliance with Canadian payroll rules and annual year‑end tasks.

You will collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve issues and ensure data integrity. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, deductions, and compliance.
• Experience with full-cycle payroll processing.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle payroll processing for employees on a bi-weekly/semi-monthly basis.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, including regular earnings, deductions, benefits, bonuses, commissions, and other adjustments.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure all payroll-related information is kept current.
• Process new hires, terminations, salary changes, promotions, leaves, and other employee status changes.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll reports and payroll-related accounts.
• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation, including statutory deductions and employment standards.
• Prepare and administer year-end payroll requirements, including T4s and other applicable tax forms.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, and other compensation-related matters.
• Work closely with HR, Finance, and other internal teams to resolve payroll issues and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with payroll audits and provide payroll reporting and analysis as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems, and efficiencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information.
