Job summary

Blue Moon Metals Inc. is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join the Finance team in Toronto. The role focuses on US payroll processing with secondary Canadian payroll support, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely processing.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Paychex, payroll reconciliations, and cross-border payroll know-how in a growing, multi-jurisdictional organization. Hybrid work 2-3 days in Toronto.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Approximately 3+ years of experience in US payroll administration, payroll coordination, or a similar role.
• Experience with multi-state US payroll, payroll tax reporting, payroll audits, and workers compensation reporting or audits.
• Strong understanding of US payroll practices, including overtime rules, PTO treatment, payroll classifications, deductions, filings, and confidentiality requirements.
• Experience supporting end-to-end US payroll processes and employee payroll changes.
• Understanding of salaried and hourly payroll processes, timesheets, pay period changes, and recurring payroll deadlines.
• Experience working with Paychex is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support regular US payroll processing, ensuring inputs are accurate and submitted on time.
• Review payroll information for completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
• Reconcile payroll data, deductions, taxes withheld, and payroll outputs.
• Support payroll tax reporting and required filings.
• Support workers compensation payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits.
• Execute payroll-related onboarding, offboarding, changes in status, and banking information.
