Job summary

Jonas Software seeks a Payroll Manager (US & Canada) to oversee full-cycle payroll for 3,000+ employees across Canada and the U.S. You will collaborate with Finance, HR, and external vendors while leading a team of five payroll professionals.

The role requires deep knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll laws, strong payroll accounting skills, and experience with ADP or Workday. Hybrid work is offered with a focus on accuracy and timely payroll delivery.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of payroll experience, including leadership roles.
• Deep knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation.
• Strong knowledge of payroll accounting (journal entries, reconciliations).
• Experience with ADP and/or Workday is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for 3,000+ employees across Canada and the U.S.
• Ensure compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local payroll legislation.
• Manage payroll calendars, audits, and year-end processes (T4s, W-2s).
• Lead payroll integration for acquisitions and onboarding of new employees.
• Mentor and develop a team of payroll staff; ensure cross-training and workload balance.
• Identify automation and efficiency opportunities to improve payroll systems.
