ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Senior Manager, Labour Relations, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping Sephora’s labour relations strategy across our Canadian operations. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll champion initiatives that elevate the employee experience, empower leaders, and proactively manage labour-related risks. You’ll influence culture, drive strategic change, and support our teams across the country.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Collaborate with the VP of Labour Relations and cross-functional partners in HR, Legal, and Operations to set strategic direction
  • Identify and address emerging labour risks using data, trends, and legislative insights to guide proactive solutions
  • Provide expert guidance to senior leaders on complex labour issues including policy alignment, compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Develop and implement national labour relations strategies that align with business goals and workforce trends
  • Design and deliver enterprise-wide training programs to strengthen leadership capabilities in fostering positive workplace relations
  • Act as the primary labour relations advisor for Canadian retail leadership, offering strategic counsel on engagement, compliance, and risk
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to conduct workplace assessments, engagement audits, and targeted interventions that address potential risks
  • Monitor labour relations trends, legislative developments, and industry practices to ensure forward-looking and compliant strategies
  • Facilitate advanced training for leaders on effective communication, workplace relations, and labour awareness
  • Serve as a strategic leader in crisis situations, ensuring timely, compliant, and effective resolution
  • Oversee the development of labour-related policies that reflect legal standards, company values, and operational needs
  • Build trusted relationships with field leadership to promote transparency and a shared commitment to a positive employee experience
  • Partner with Total Rewards, Talent, and Legal teams to assess the labour impact of major initiatives and support execution readiness
  • Represent Sephora in high-profile labour relations matters including collective bargaining and external agency interactions as needed
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in labour relations with a proven track record of strategic leadership in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments
  • Deep understanding of Canadian federal and provincial labour laws and regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree in labour relations, human resources, law, or a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to shape enterprise-wide strategy, influence senior leadership, and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Experience in high-stakes negotiations, conflict resolution, and crisis management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Outstanding communication and executive presence with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data to support decision-making
  • High integrity, discretion, and professional judgment in handling sensitive matters
  • Bilingual in English and French preferred
