Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Marketing & Privacy Engineering (MPE) team to shape the architecture, reliability, and evolution of high-traffic consumer web experiences. You will own critical web platforms and collaborate with product, marketing, analytics, and data engineering to ensure performance, measurement, and privacy from the start.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications with React or Vue.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with web instrumentation and marketing tech such as GTM, analytics, experimentation platforms, conversion tracking, advertising or marketing APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Experience designing reliable, performant consumer web systems with consideration for consent, cookies, tagging, observability, and data collection.
• Experience defining a technical plan for delivery of significant features or systems with clean, extensible design.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive growth and improve code quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for collaboration with a global engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly goals for the team and lead engineers through ambiguity to deliver solutions.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics to articulate constraints and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify and lead resolution of project, process or technology issues.
• Monitor and support metrics, on-call efforts, and runbooks to keep systems available.
• Raise quality and ownership through code reviews and design standards across teams.
• Mentor teammates, provide feedback, and lead by example.
