The Finance Department is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for WWM and its affiliates. Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for the month-end and year-end processes, general ledger account reconciliation, analysis and financial reporting. The incumbent will also assist in the annual budget process.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Coordinating, reconciling, analyzing and verifying accounting information;
• Preparing the month-end packages within set timelines;
• Reviewing and analyzing expenses and operating trends compared to the budget;
• Maintaining the fixed asset system;
• Preparing and maintaining various commodity tax and regulatory filings;
• Preparing audit packages for statutory requirements and other audits as required;
• Assisting with subsidiary accounting and reporting as needed;
• Assisting in the preparation of the annual budgets and forecasts;
• Assisting with other functions within the Finance department as appropriate; and
• Providing recommendations on internal control procedures, system improvements and process enhancements, and assisting in implementation of approved changes.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• University Degree - Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration or Accounting
• Completion or near completion of the CPA designation required
• Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience required – knowledge of the financial service industry would be an asset
• Detail-oriented with logical and solid understanding of accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel
• Familiarity with Multiview accounting software an asset
• Ability to prioritize workload, meet strict deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working within a team environment
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
