Skyline Recruitment is partnering with a leading global engineering and consulting firm with a strong presence in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The firm delivers innovative, sustainable solutions across water, environment, energy, and infrastructure, supporting both private and public sector clients across Canada.

As part of their continued growth, our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on diverse projects across:

  • Heavy Industrial Facilities
  • Pipelines and Refineries
  • Mining and Mineral Processing
  • Municipal Utilities and Water Treatment

This position offers a full relocation package to Thunder Bay for qualified candidates looking to make a permanent move.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist in the design of power distribution, control, communication, and lighting systems.
  • Prepare detailed electrical and instrumentation deliverables, including single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, layouts, and installation scopes of work.
  • Perform technical calculations and system studies (load flow, arc flash, fault, and coordination).
  • Oversee PLC/DCS programming, commissioning, and start-up activities as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure deliverables meet company and client standards.
  • Conduct field reviews, site inspections, and construction support when required.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or related discipline).
  • 8–15 years of relevant experience in consulting, industrial, or utility projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (PEO) required.
  • Proven background in consulting, mining, forestry, utilities, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and related standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate to Thunder Bay (relocation assistance provided).
