Job Description

This is an experienced business and data analyst role focused on supporting Retail Credit, Climate and Innovation Technology Portfolio of Projects. Projects support and seek to modernize several application and systems primarily in the Enterprise Risk areas and Climate Data Strategy and Innovation Technology (AI applications and Data Strategy)

Climate Risk and Data Strategy set of initiatives involve strategic sourcing of data from multiple data sources, building a framework for storing this data and making the data available to a data modeling environment from which support multiple business initiatives.

You will handle business analysis aspects of IT delivery for Climate Data Strategy and Risk initiatives with focus on delivering requirements, data and functional specifications documentation, excel prototypes of data processing and providing walkthrough of the detailed business requirements to Dev and QA teams.

What will you do?

• As a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Sr. BSA), support all business and systems analysis activities for the Climate Data project portfolio of work.
• Develop detailed understanding of current state including data feeds required for Climate Risk Data Stores and Climate Data Hub. Data sources can include a range of (PCAF) Asset Classes – Residential Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate, Sovereign Debt, Project Finance, Listed Equity and Corporate Bonds, Business Loans and unlisted Equities.
• Map and provide rules for the transformation of data from multiple sources into standardized data feeds required for the Climate Risk engines.
• Work closely with business users to understand and elicit business requirements and demo system functionality.
• Prepare high level and detailed requirements and functional specifications, and support developers on projects.
• Efficiently perform business analysis tasks including documentation of requirements, data analysis and support UAT testing.
• Work closely with development team, explain the requirements, validate the design assumptions for various business scenarios and testing.
• Support QA/Business team in creation of UAT test cases against business requirements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

• Experience working on data projects (Agile methodologies), sourcing, standardization, and aggregation of data.
• 3+ years previous work experience as a Business or Data Analyst (Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence and Reporting), or in a technical/functional/consulting role in software development.
• Proficiency and experience in the use of one of Python and/or SQL technologies to perform complex data analysis and support developers working with a technology stack including Linux, Hadoop, Hive, Spark.
• Demonstrated proficiency in producing and using data catalogues, data modeling and business process modeling.
• Ability to communicate and document effectively – write requirements succinctly, summarize data analysis, and present to business users and development teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, Math and Statistics or other quantitative discipline.

Nice to Have:

• Good understanding of Climate Data Initiatives, Environmental, Social and Governance investment policies & frameworks for financial institutions.
• Experience building enterprise scale applications involving large data volumes and computations.
• Experience working in finance, banking, insurance industries.
