Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company focused on privacy-aware consumer web experiences and measurement. The Senior Software Engineer will own backend data pipelines and measurement systems integrating paid media, SEO, and downstream outcomes like signup and GMV.

You will partner with engineering, product, marketing, analytics, and data teams to embed consent, tagging, identity, and data requirements into measurement architecture from day one.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• Track record of developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience building marketing data and measurement systems using GTM/sGTM, GA4, advertising/conversion APIs, CDPs, attribution or mobile measurement platforms, and consent management platforms.
• Experience building production data pipelines and analytical models using Snowflake, dbt and Airflow, including event-level data, identity resolution, attribution, or conversion measurement.
• Ability to define a technical plan for delivering a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple and extensible design.
• Proven ability to write high quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
• Strong ownership mindset and willingness to seek feedback to improve.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for collaboration with a global team.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, guiding engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics across the lifecycle.
• Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology or business issues.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts; monitor metrics and participate in on-call duties.
• Raise code quality standards and advocate best practices across the org.
• Mentor teammates, provide feedback, and lead by example.
