Job Description

Department: Corporate Finance. Reports to: Senior Manager, Corporate Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for external and internal financial reporting processes.
  • Ensures compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes financial statements and other financial results.
  • Responsible for Corporate business unit accounting.
  • Analyzes data to support business decision-making.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly tax provisions including related journal entries and reconciliation.
  • Responsible for assisting with Canadian and foreign jurisdiction corporate tax filings.
  • Communicates as necessary with federal and provincial tax authorities to ensure tax returns are assessed and/or reassessed correctly.
  • Assists with tax-related enquiries from other departments or tax advisors.
  • Assists with tax planning opportunities.
  • Liaises with the financial team leaders of the Company's individual business units.
  • Liaises with external auditors in regards to financial reporting and tax-specific inquiries.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Canadian CPA designation.
  • 3-5 years experience (ideally in a public company environment, with multi-jurisdictional and multi-currency)
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and income tax legislations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and superior communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
