Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a part-time Commissionaire for CFB Borden, Ontario. You will perform interior building checks, maintain access control, and escort visitors while upholding professional standards and client relations.

The role requires a valid Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid & CPR, and the ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance. Long shifts and rotating schedules are expected.

Qualificações

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma required.
• Must hold Ontario Security Guard License.
• Must have First Aid & CPR certification.
• Must be able to obtain Secret Security Clearance (Canada resident 10+ years, clean record).
• Clearance must be upgradeable to Secret.
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods.
• Ability to complete frequent patrols.
• English fluency; French is an asset.

INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Conducting interior building checks. Buildings may be vacant, occupied or equipment storage. Building list as per client specifications
• Guards are expected to walk between 20,000 and 30,000 steps per shift
• Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured, escorting visitors as required
• Maintaining positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Good Radio communication
• Conducting physical checks of buildings at directed
• Secure and open Access Gates as directed
• Responding to alarms and utilization of alarm panels
  
• Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary
  
• Ability to stand/sit for a longer period of time
  
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

• *MUST* Have the ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
• Security Clearance Requirement: Reliable upgradeable to Secret
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
• Ability to complete frequent patrols
• Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU

• Job type: Part-time
• Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.82 per hour
  
• Hours of work:
  • Rotation 1 (Weekdays): Mon–Wed (Week 1) and Mon–Thurs (Week 2), 1800 to 0600hrs
  • Rotation 2 (Weekends): Thurs–Sun (Week 1) and Fri–Sun (Week 2), 1800 to 0600hrs
  • Full-time guards swap between weekday and weekend rotations every 4 to 5 weeks
