Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes seeks Commissionaires to join our team in a front-line security role at a Toronto site. Responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, answering calls, patrolling, incident reporting, and pass issuance, with duties assigned by the client or regional manager.

The position requires Ontario Diploma, a valid Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid/ CPR, ability to work independently, and security-clearance eligibility. English fluency is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma is required.
• Must hold Ontario Security Guard License.
• Must have First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to stand/sit for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Fluent English; French is an asset.
• Must clear Federal Top Secret clearance including Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV and access control.
• Answer phone calls and respond to emails.
• Patrol premises on foot.
• Prepare incident reports.
• Maintain good radio communication with computer systems.
• Respond to alarms and incidents.
• Manning reception and issuing passes.
• Prevent theft and disturbances.
• Escort visitors/contractors as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Client or Regional Manager.

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Monitoring CCTV and access control
• Answering to phone calls and responding to emails
• Foot patrolling of the premises
• Incident reporting
• Good radio communication with computer skills
• Ability to work independently and fast thinking skill
• Responding to alarms
• Manning reception and issuing of passes
• Prevention of theft, disorders and disturbances
• Ensuring that no loitering or soliciting takes place in the building
• Proving visitor/contractor escorts
• Other duties as assigned by the Client, or the Regional Manager

• *MUST* be able to clear Federal Top Secret clearance- including Polygraph test (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)

Hours of work: Continental Shift( 0600 - 1800 and 1800-0600 )
