Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire for full-time security roles at CFB Borden Gates (South Gate, Alliston; West Gate, Lisle; North Gate, Angus). The position includes access control, reporting, and maintaining security standards in varied weather with 12-hour shifts.

Applicants must hold an Ontario Security Guard License, a valid First Aid and CPR certificate, and be able to obtain Secret clearance. Benefits include medical and dental coverage and support programs.

Qualifications

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma is required.
• Ontario Security Guard License is mandatory.
• First Aid and CPR certificate is mandatory.
• Must be able to obtain Secret Security Clearance (Canada resident 10+ years, clean record).

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control policies are followed and client property is secured.
• Manage gate arms from 2100hrs to 0600hrs daily.
• Complete site reporting, logs and written reports.
• Maintain professional appearance and communication.
• Perform other duties as required by site supervisor.

INTRODUCTION

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
• Guards are responsible for lowering and raising gate arms between 2100hrs to 0600hrs daily.
• Peak Period ID Checks are completed randomly
• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Maintain effective communication
• Maintain professionalism at all times, during all interactions.
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to drag a 30kg barrier, 5m distance

• Job type: Full-Time
• Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.82 per hour
• Hours of work: 12hr shift during the week and weekends 1800hrs to 0600hrs
